"Deep, dark - virtually opaque purple-black color. Black-fruit aromas are quite closed & overlain by savory/toasty oak notes. The palate has good freshness, some density & perhaps a leafy touch over black-plum fruit. The wine is quite velvety textured with good acidity & balanced alcohol. There is a rather old-fashioned structure of fine, graphite-smooth tannins. The style is balanced, slightly astringent. The fresh acidity gives a very long finish." - 04/25 ep DCAMW
