"The deep, dark purple-black color has a vivid purple rim and stains the glass, it is not opaque. Complex, harmonious aromas are of red-plums, damsons, cassis & lead pencils. Good acidity gives excellent focus. Fine tannins have lovely finesse, the structure adds mineral notes, graphite and salinity. The wine's elegant austerity is very typical of Leoville-Las-Cases.
