"Deep, dark, almost opaque purple-ruby. Delicate, ripe damson perfumes have licorice hints. The palate has intense, dark, ripe plum, prune & black-fruit flavors. Tannins are quite dense & the wine is of mid-weight. The mid-palate opens to show cassis, licorice & graphite. Alcohol rounds out the wine. Acidity is fresh without being sharp & gives good length to a structured finish with licorice notes. There is well-integrated chocolatey & toasty oak on the finish."- 04/25 ep DCAMW
