Chateau Figeac Saint-Emilion Grand Cru (Minimum order: 6 bottle case) FUTURES 2025 Pre-Arrival

Producer Notes

This unusual blend, with its majority two-thirds Cabernet, gives the wine both structure and refinement, freshness and smoothness. Since the early years of the present century the wine has become more approachable in its youth, offering a more caressing mouthfeel, without losing its incomparable uprightness over the years. Its ability to age for decades is quite exceptional, revealing an inimitable and complex bouquet as the years go by.

Vineyard Notes

Château-Figeac owes its distinctive character to the unique combination of Gunzian gravel outcrops and clay subsoil, several microclimates and the mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot planted in the vineyard.

Vintage Notes

The 2025 vintage is defined by exceptionally warm and dry conditions. Yet the outstanding terroir of Château Figeac—with its distinctive blue clay subsoils beneath gravel rises—played a crucial role in moderating water stress. These natural advantages were further enhanced by carefully tailored viticultural practices designed to preserve freshness throughout the growing season.

Producer Tasting Notes

The nose is delicate and layered, revealing peony, white pepper, and fresh red fruit, underpinned by a subtle graphite minerality. The palate opens with a silky texture and finely grained tannins. The mid-palate is generous and enveloping, showcasing vibrant fruit purity, while the saline finish lingers with elegance, perfect balance, freshness and a precise expression of the terroir.

Critic tasting notes: (2025 vintage)

"Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Delicate herbal spice, fresh red heart cherries, delicate cassis, a hint of mandarin zest, mineral touch. Complex, tightly meshed, black cherries, good freshness on the palate too, silky-soft, ripe, supporting tannins that are very well integrated, extract-sweet finish, salty touch, has great length, very seductive style, perhaps the most precise Figeac ever," - Falstaff (100/100)

"Flowers, forest leaves, raspberries, tobacco leaves, plums, and a hint of espresso already express their nuances in the perfume. The palate is shaped by the gorgeous purity of the fruit. From there, elegance, a relaxed vibe, and tension provide lift, allowing you to enjoy the creamy, silky palate, with its multiple layers of fruit and mineral essence, lingering for close to 60 seconds. Perhaps the most salient factors that shaped the 2025 vintage were the number of sun hours, combined with heat and drought, followed by cool nights. This combination of events has not occurred before. The wine blends 38% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 30% Cabernet Franc. 9% Press wine. 13.2% ABV, 3.65 pH. The yields were only 25 hectoliter per hectare. Picking took place from September 1 to September 19. Drink from 2030-2065." - Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider (99/100)

"A dense yet open-grained red. It’s layered, with dusty tannins that give it a velvety texture and a medium- to full-bodied palate with plum, currant and cedar flavors. Juicy. 13% alcohol. Merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon." - James Suckling (96-97/100)
