Bastian Wolber “Laisse Tomber” Volnay 2022 is an elegant, finely structured Pinot Noir that highlights Volnay’s signature grace, perfume and silky texture. It is a premium, artisanal Burgundy with a refined, lifted profile and a quietly luxurious presence.
Volnay is one of the Côte de Beaune’s most admired villages for wines that favor finesse over force, with floral aromatics, supple tannins and a graceful mid-palate. In this cuvée, that classic identity is expressed through Bastian Wolber’s restrained, low-intervention style, which preserves clarity, freshness and vineyard nuance. The result is a wine that feels poised, transparent and distinctly refined.
Appearance: Bright ruby with a luminous, transparent core.
Nose: Red cherry, raspberry, wild strawberry, violet, rose petal, subtle spice and delicate earthy notes.
Palate: Dry and silky, with fresh acidity, fine tannins and a precise, elegant core of red fruit.
Finish: Long, refined and savory, with a floral-mineral close and a graceful fruit echo.
The “Laisse Tomber” philosophy suggests a restrained cellar approach that allows the vineyard to speak clearly. In Volnay, that typically translates into a wine of perfume, lift and texture rather than overt weight or extraction. The 2022 vintage should bring concentration and warmth, balanced by the producer’s focus on freshness, definition and fine detail.
Excellent with duck, roast chicken, veal, quail, mushrooms and refined charcuterie. It also pairs beautifully with elegant bistro dishes and earthy vegetarian cuisine.
