Domaine Sylvain Pataille Marsannay 'Chardonnay Rose' 2021
Chardonnay Rose is a genetic mutation of the Chardonnay grape specific to the village of Marsannay. Sylvain Pataille first noticed the mutation in 2002, finding surprisingly pink grapes at harvest. From 2002 to 2005, his Marsannay Blanc was 100% Chardonnay Rose from Blangeys, then he began blending it with traditional Chardonnay. This unique wine, offering aromas of red berries, citrus, and floral notes, pairs well with grilled fish, poultry, and creamy cheeses. As Sylvain's young vines mature, we hope to see more than the current limited production in the future.
