Francis Boulard Coteaux Champenois Rouge Pinot Noir 2018

Francis Boulard Coteaux Champenois Pinot Noir is a remarkable still red wine crafted
exclusively from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The grapes used for this wine are sourced from a small estate parcel known as Le Murtet, situated in the picturesque village of Cormicy within the Massif de Saint-Thierry, in the northernmost part of the Montagne de Reims.
True to the Boulards' commitment to sustainable practices, the vineyard is certified organic and biodynamic. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and destemmed before undergoing fermentation in oak barrels, utilizing indigenous yeasts. This process includes a three-week maceration period with daily pumpovers to extract the rich flavors and aromas from the grapes.

Following fermentation, the wine is aged in new Burgundy barrels for a duration of 18 months, allowing it to develop its distinctive character and complexity. Importantly, the wine is bottled without the use of fining or filtering methods, preserving its natural qualities and purity.
