Vilmart & Cie Les Blanches Voies Blanc de Blanc Premier Cru Brut 2009
The 2009 Vilmart & Cie Les Blanches Voies Blanc de Blanc Premier Cru Brut is a 100% Chardonnay Champagne that showcases the remarkable qualities of the 2009 vintage. It displays a bright golden hue and a fine, persistent mousse. The bouquet reveals notes of fresh citrus, white peach, and a touch of honeycomb. The palate is rich and complex, with flavors of ripe pear, lemon curd, and a distinctive minerality. The wine's bright acidity and creamy texture create a harmonious, luxurious experience with a long, memorable finish. Robert Parker (Wine Advocate) - A new lieu-dit cuvée for Vilmart—derived from 60-year-old vines and vinified in barrel for 10 months—debuts with the 2009 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Les Blanches Voies, a wine that was disgorged in March 2017 with four grams per liter dosage. Wafting from the glass with aromas of crisp yellow pear, beeswax, white flowers, walnuts and brioche, it's deep, full-bodied and searingly intense, with chalky structuring extract and an incisive spine of acidity. Long and penetrating, this has turned out brilliantly.
