Le Petit Ducru de Ducru-Beaucaillou Saint Julien 2022
From 2019 vintage Lalande-Borie has been re labeled as Petit Ducru and becoming Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou third wine.
Expert tasting note:
"Deep, dark, black-purple color is nort opaque. Aromas are of juicy elderberry fruit and sweet, ripe licorice. The palate opens with fresh, dark-fruit, then cedary tannins start to dry the mid-palate. The palate is of mid-weight with a good concentration of tannins that begin drying, then add mouth-watering grip. Alcohol is balanced by the rich fruit. The long, structured finish combines bitter locorice with juicy black-cherry fruit." - 04/23 (ep) DCAMW
Robert Parker The Wine Advocate -
"The 2022 Le Petit Ducru has turned out especially well this year, offering up aromas of cherries and raspberries mingled with tobacco leaf and pencil shavings, followed by a medium to full-bodied, velvety and fleshy palate that's unusually supple and polished." - William Kelley (RP 90-92)
