Frederic Cossard Vin de France Ploussard 2022
Introducing the Frederic Cossard Vin de France Ploussard 2022:
Based in Saint Romain, Burgundy, Frédéric Cossard also vinifies grapes from the Jura vineyards. These négociant cuvées are crafted with the same meticulous care, following a natural approach without any additives. This Ploussard originates from the Sainte-Agnès vineyard in Jura, where vines are cultivated organically on limestone marl terroir.
Hand-harvested grapes are transported to Burgundy for vinification. Spontaneous fermentation occurs with whole clusters in open wooden vats, with a maceration period of approximately fifteen days. After pressing, the wine is aged for twelve months in a 1400-liter concrete egg. The cuvée is then bottled without fining or filtration.
In the glass, expect a delightful wine of great finesse. On the nose, red berries and a hint of pepper characterize this Ploussard, followed by a supple, slightly full-bodied palate with beautiful concentration.
