La Raison d'Hetre Castillon-Cotes de Bordeaux 2020

Embark on an extraordinary vinous journey that showcases the exceptional winemaking legacy of the Thienpont family, esteemed producers of the legendary Le Pin. La Raison d'Hetre Castillon-Cotes de Bordeaux 2020 is a testament to their unwavering commitment to crafting wines of unparalleled quality, all at a remarkably reasonable price. This magnificent blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc pays homage to the esteemed terroir of Castillon. With its deep ruby hue, the wine emanates opulence and grace. Captivating aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries, and a touch of spice tantalize the senses. On the palate, it unveils a symphony of flavors, harmonizing luscious dark fruits, velvety tannins, and a subtle earthiness. The result is a wine of remarkable complexity, finesse, and depth, offered at an accessible price point, a true testament to the Thienpont family's dedication to excellence and their esteemed reputation as producers of Le Pin.

One third of the 2020 harvest has been used to make Raison d’Hêtre from 100% Merlot grapes which was aged half in barrels used for one wine and half in barrels used for two wines. This is a wine with lots of character and spice; it is peppery and fresh on the nose with a pretty attack of black fruit, mint and liquorice. On the palate the texture is quite creamy, with good volume and well-integrated tannins. The finish is quite long with a spicy, chocolatey flavour. - Thienpont Wines.
