Bodegas Emilio Moro 'Malleolus de Sanchomartin', Ribera del Duero 2004
Bodegas Emilio Moro 'Malleolus de Sanchomartin' Ribera del Duero 2004 is an elite single-vineyard Tempranillo from the historic Sanchomartín plot planted in 1944 on high-altitude clay-limestone hillside soils in Peñafiel, Spain.
Robert Parker The Wine Advocate (96/100)
"The 2004 Malleolus de Sanchomartin is also purple/black in color. It displays an impressive perfume of roasted herbs, balsamic, black fruits, licorice, and a hint of truffle. Dense, layered, powerful but totally harmonious, all the ingredients are present for future greatness. Give it 12-15 years and drink it through 2044.
Malleolus de Sanchomartin is sourced from a vineyard planted in 1964 with cuttings grafted from the Valderramiro vineyard. Alcoholic fermentation is with indigenous yeasts with ML in barrel. The wine is then aged for 22 months in French oak." - Reviewed by: Jay S Miller
