About 2020 Vintage

2020 was a year of climate contrasts. Mild and rainy spring, followed by dry hot summer and even drier and hotter fall during the harvest. The yields were reduced by natural factors like hail, mildew, and long period of draught.

From early assessments it looks like the quality of wine that was produced is high and châteaux themselves are very happy with what they produced. The problem is that quantities are going to be low, about 10% down form 2019.

This makes the en primeur period the best time to purchase the wines that you desire, since the lower quantities can make it more difficult to acquire these wines later on.
