Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux (Minimum order: 6 bottle case) FUTURES 2025 Pre-Arrival

Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux 2025 is a powerful, crystalline and deeply refined white Bordeaux that showcases Château Margaux’s pure Sauvignon Blanc at a very high level. It combines opulent ripe fruit with laser‑clear acidity, intense concentration and a long, salty, mineral finish, standing out as one of the most successful dry whites of this warm, dry vintage.

Vineyard Notes

The eleven-hectare vineyard is composed only of Sauvignon Blanc. It is situated on a very old plot of the Estate that had long since been planted with red vines and then been dug up because of the high risk of spring frosts. Production techniques, as well as the selection have been completely reviewed since the years 2009/2010 in order to reach a higher level of excellence; only 1/3 of the harvest is bottled, the remaining 2/3 is sold loose. So the quantity of Pavillon Blanc has been greatly reduced and isn’t more than one thousand cases.

Critic tasting notes: (2025 vintage)

"A complete sauvignon blanc with sliced pear, apple and lemon aromas and flavors with a full body and a polished texture that is caressing and beautiful. It is crunchy and a bit richer than many Pavillon Blancs." - James Suckling (97-98/100)

"White peach, flowers, pineapples, orange rind, roasted nuts, and crisp green apples permeate the aromatic profile. The palate is juicy, crisp, and loaded with a blend of tropical fruits, and sweet, juicy citrus, finishing with the perfect balance between opulence, hedonism, and freshness. The wine is produced from 100% Sauvignon Blanc.14% ABV. Harvesting took place from August 18 - August 22. Yields were only 16 hectoliters per hectare. Drink from 2027-2040." - Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider (96/100)

"Pale greenish yellow, silver reflections. Fine nuances of gooseberries and white peach, a hint of passion fruit, lemongrass, floral notes. Complex, juicy, white tropical fruit, finesse-rich structure, mineral, subtle sweetness on the finish, delicate aftertaste, salty touch, good length, a multi-faceted food companion." - Falstaff (95/100)

Site & Identity

Pavillon Blanc is the historic white wine of Château Margaux, produced since the 19th century and today made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc planted on carefully selected plots within the Margaux estate. The wine is known for its incomparable finesse, complexity and length for a 100% Sauvignon Blanc, and recent vintages have pushed the style toward greater minerality, tension and aging capacity while retaining generosity and aromatic intensity.

Technical Tasting Note

Appearance: Bright, pale to medium yellow with clear green hues, underlining both ripeness and freshness, and a very luminous, crystalline aspect in the glass.

Nose: Expressive and complex, with confit citrus, lemon sherbet, ripe peach, starfruit, pineapple and waxy white peach, layered with notes of lemon zest, grass, herbs, gunsmoke, chalk and a touch of saline, sea‑spray minerality.

Palate: Medium‑ to full‑bodied, rich and dense yet enveloping, with a fleshy, succulent core of citrus and exotic white and yellow fruits balanced by clear, crystalline acidity. There is real mid‑palate weight and intensity, but the line remains taut and focused, with a very salty, mineral edge that keeps the wine vibrant and precise.

Finish: Long, ethereal and perfumed, driven by confit citrus, white fruit and herbal notes, with a mouth‑watering saline bitterness that cleanses the palate and underlines the wine’s structure and aging potential.

Winemaking & Style

Pavillon Blanc 2025 is crafted entirely from Sauvignon Blanc, picked very early between 18 and 22 August at just 16 hl/ha, one of the smallest white yields ever at the property. The wine is matured in around 20% new oak with less bâtonnage than usual, and shows 14% alcohol with a very low pH of about 3.14, delivering both power and remarkable freshness. The result is a concentrated, aromatic and structured dry white that combines opulence with cut, perfectly reflecting Château Margaux’s increasingly mineral, complex style for Pavillon Blanc.

Buying Outlook

Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux 2025 is a prime En Primeur choice for clients seeking a serious, ageworthy white Bordeaux with First Growth pedigree. Leading notes place it firmly among the top dry whites of the vintage, with projected scores in the mid‑90s and clear capacity to evolve beautifully for 10–15+ years from release. With extremely low yields and very limited production, this is a high‑interest, scarcity‑driven offer that delivers both immediate excitement and strong long‑term cellar value.

Food Pairing

This wine pairs superbly with oysters, shellfish, lobster, scallops, turbot, sole and other fine white fish, especially in citrus‑ or herb‑accented preparations. Its richness and mineral tension also make it an outstanding partner for refined poultry, veal in cream sauces, asparagus dishes and high‑end Japanese or modern gastronomic cuisine where precision and complexity are essential.
