Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste Pauillac (Minimum order: 6 bottle case) SPECIAL ENGRAVED BOTTLE FUTURES 2025 Pre-Arrival

Fifth Growth. Cinquieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855.

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste Pauillac 2025 (Special Engraved Bottle) is a classic 5ème Grand Cru Classé offered en primeur, uniting the estate’s hallmark Pauillac structure with the added exclusivity of a commemorative engraved format. It is a powerful, elegant Left Bank wine designed both for long-term aging and as a memorable gift or keepsake bottle.

Critic tasting notes: (2025 vintage)

"Deep dark ruby garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Fresh, ripe heart cherries, a hint of cassis and blackberry confit, a hint of mandarin zest, red berry nuances underneath, floral touch. Juicy, lively, red forest berry confit, fine tannins, mineral-salty, an elegant, well adhering food companion, delicate and long lasting." - Falstaff (97/100)

"Excellent GPL, medium- to full-bodied with a great expression of dark fruit that is evenly distributed. It’s fresh and precise with grainy, integrated tannins that should only integrate more. A blend of 76% cabernet sauvignon and 24% merlot." - James Suckling (96-97/100)

"This textbook Pauillac opens with aromas of cassis, flowers, blackberries, tobacco, and a lead pencil. The palate is lifted, powerful, juicy, and chewy. The wine is long, fresh, and creamy, and, most importantly, packed with round fruit and tobacco leaves that linger. This is a modern, classically styled vintage. The wine is a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon with 24% Merlot, 13.2% ABV. Picking took place September 4 - September 18. Yields were 30 hectoliters, per hectare. Drink from 2028 - 2060." - Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider (96/100)

Site & Identity

Grand-Puy-Lacoste is rooted in deep “grosses graves” on elevated croupes in Pauillac, a terroir that naturally produces wines of cassis, graphite, tobacco and impressive backbone. The 2025 vintage is already attracting high en primeur scores (up to 97 points) and is being positioned as a particularly pure, classically styled Pauillac, with Cabernet Sauvignon firmly in the lead. In an engraved-bottle presentation, it becomes not only a collectible fine wine but also an ideal birth-year or anniversary gift, especially when ordered in special wooden-case formats.

Technical Tasting Note

  • Appearance: Deep, dense ruby with a vibrant, youthful core typical of a concentrated Cabernet-driven Pauillac.

  • Nose: Intense blackcurrant and dark berries with notes of cedar, graphite, tobacco, spice and fine oak, reflecting the gravel terroir and classic GPL profile.

  • Palate: Medium to full-bodied, structured and precise, with ripe cassis fruit, firm yet refined tannins and a cool, gravelly-mineral line giving definition and length.

  • Finish: Long, fresh and tightly knit, promising decades of evolution in bottle while already displaying balance, energy and Pauillac typicity.

Winemaking & Style

The 2025 blend is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Merlot, aged 16–18 months in French oak barrels, about two-thirds of which are new, to give polish and complexity without overwhelming the fruit. Alcohol sits around 13%, emphasizing classical balance rather than excess, and underlining a style that is powerful, linear and built for long-term aging. In en primeur, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2025 should be presented as a serious, finely crafted Pauillac—traditional in spirit, with superb structure and strong critical support.

Special Engraved Bottle & Gifting

In the Special Engraved Bottle edition, this 2025 release gains an extra layer of exclusivity, ideal for birth-year cellars, corporate gifts or milestone celebrations. Combined with the château’s reputation and the strong 2025 vintage, the engraved format turns a classic grand cru into a standout collector’s piece and a highly presentable gift straight from the wooden case.
