Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc Pessac-Léognan 2025 is a rare, highly coveted dry white Bordeaux with extraordinary pedigree, depth and finesse. It is a wine for the initiated: precise, luminous and quietly luxurious, with the kind of ageworthy structure that has made the white of La Mission one of Bordeaux’s most revered bottles.
Producer Notes
"Sought-after by wine lovers all over the world, Cha^teau La Mission Haut-Brion white wine is extremely rare (500 to 600 cases). Containing an average 85% Se´millon and 14% Sauvignon Blanc with a dash of Muscadelle, this voluptuous wine is rich and concentrated with a wonderfully long finish. Previously known as Cha^teau Laville Haut-Brion, Cha^teau La Mission Haut-Brion is a wine for the initiated. It is unique: when young, it has the characteristics of a great Gewurztraminer. Over time, it takes on the amber colour of a great Sauternes wine. This dry white wine expresses all the attributes of a Graves sweet wine, specific to the Se´millon grown on these famous terroirs. Beginning with the 2009 vintage, the familiar Cha^teau Laville Haut-Brion label will no longer be used, to be replaced by one bearing the name Cha^teau La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, accentuated in gold as Fre´de´ric Woltner had done when creating its very first label in 1927."
Critic tasting note: (2025 vintage)
"Honeysuckle, lemon grass, white peaches, green apples, and pineapples explode from the glass. The palate is packed with waves of bright, fresh, vibrant, sweet, yellow fruits, with the perfect accent of bitterness, salt, and sweetness in the finish. The wine is made from a blend of 64.5% Semillon, and 35.5% Sauvignon Blanc, picking took place August 14-August 21. Yields were 22 hectoliters per hectare. 14.5% ABV, 3.2 pH. Drink from 2028-2045." - Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider (97/100)
"Light yellow-green, silver reflections. Delicate bouquet, white blossoms, a hint of pears and mango, delicate blossom honey, underlaid with candied orange zest. Powerful, ripe yellow tropical fruit, mineral, fine, integrated acidity, salty nuances, some grapefruit on the finish, a full-bodied food wine, good length, has ageing potential." - Falstaff (95/100)
Site & Identity
The wine comes from the celebrated gravel terraces of Pessac-Léognan, where clay-limestone subsoils and old vines give Sémillon an unusually deep, textural and mineral expression. Château La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is made in very limited quantities and has long been known for its singular style, combining Graves gravitas with aromatic purity and a distinctly noble, contemplative character. In 2025, the château’s own notes point to a wine of ripeness, balance and aromatic brilliance, underscoring its position as one of the great white wines of Bordeaux.

Winemaking & Style
The 2025 blend is reported as 64.5% Sémillon and 35.5% Sauvignon Blanc, vinified in barrel and bottled from mid-April, with the estate maintaining its focus on depth, texture and aromatic definition. Only about 4 hectares of the 29-hectare property are dedicated to white wine, reinforcing the wine’s rarity and prestige. Stylistically, La Mission Blanc 2025 should be presented as a luminous, concentrated dry white with superb balance between richness and freshness, built to evolve beautifully over many years.
