Domaine Serene Evenstad Reserve Chardonnay 2012
Domaine Serene Evenstad Reserve Chardonnay 2012 is a beautifully balanced wine, with aromas of ripe peach, lemon zest, and a hint of toasted oak. On the palate, this wine is rich and creamy, with flavors of vanilla and butterscotch balanced by a bright acidity. The finish is long and satisfying, showcasing the exceptional quality of this wine.
This reserve is actually one of the winery's less expensive Chardonnays. It's full, fruity and forward, with a lush mix of pineapple, peaches and tropical fruits, buttressed with juicy acids and highlights of toasted nuts. Thoroughly delicious, and ready for immediate enjoyment.
Robert Parker (Wine Advocate) -
The 2012 Chardonnay Evenstad Reserve was picked October 10-18: a narrow picking window according to winemaker Erik Kramer. It is 100% whole-cluster fruit and matured in 25% new wood and less lees-stirring than in recent vintages. There is plentiful richness on the nose with notes of clear honey, white peach and subtle marzipan scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a very harmonious texture, a gentle spicy note on the entry, with dried lemon peel and lemongrass enlivening the finish while retaining admirable focus.
