Domaine Dujac Gevrey Chambertin Les Combottes 1er Cru 2014
The 2014 Les Combottes reveals an attractive nose of red fruits, earth, and floral notes. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, with excellent depth and structure, finishing with a lingering mineral nuance.Vineyard notes
- Les Combottes, a lieu-dit south of the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, lies halfway up the hill, just below the steep incline of Les Monts Luisants, in a steeply sloping area (5–6%). Ranging in altitude from 271 to 282 meters, this lieu-dit faces due east. The soil changes from east to west. In the eastern part of the plot, the reddish-brown soil is 40 to 50 cm thick, containing angular-to-rounded limestone fragments. In the western part of the lieu-dit, the soil is rich in fine angular limestone gravel. The substratum underlying Les Combottes is ocher-colored crinoidal limestone (calcaire à Entroques), rich in debris from marine organisms. To the west, this layer is overlain by bedded limestone scree (grèzes litées), covering the upper part of the slope. This Comblanchien limestone scree is composed of fine angular gravel.
