🍷 Bordeaux is Back, Baby!

Bordeaux is Back

After years of being overshadowed by other regions, Bordeaux is making a major comeback in 2026, capturing the attention of a new generation of American wine lovers with its quality, value, and classic appeal.

For a while, it seemed like Bordeaux had been relegated to the cellars of an older generation. But now, the tide is turning. According to a recent article in SevenFifty Daily, sommeliers and wine directors across the US are reporting a resurgence of interest in this classic French region.

The reason? A combination of high-quality recent vintages, more accessible pricing, and a renewed appreciation for the timeless elegance of Bordeaux wines.

One of the key drivers of this trend is value. While top-tier Bordeaux from iconic châteaux will always be a significant investment, there is a wealth of excellent and affordable options from appellations like Haut-Médoc and Saint-Émilion.

This is particularly appealing to a US market that is increasingly looking for wines that offer both quality and a sense of place without breaking the bank.

Furthermore, the "Bordeaux bashing" of previous years has given way to a rediscovery of the region's diversity and quality. From the Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blends of the Left Bank to the Merlot-driven wines of the Right Bank, there's a Bordeaux for every palate. This renewed enthusiasm is so strong that some are calling it a "rehabilitation" of the region's image.

For the American wine drinker, 2026 is the perfect time to rediscover the king of red wines.
