Christie’s will hold The Cellar of the Hon. Henry Tang, a landmark single-owner wine auction, on October 10, 2026, at The Henderson in Hong Kong. The sale comprises 860 lots spanning vintages from more than 90 years.
Christie’s expects the sale to realize at least HK$26 million, or about US$3.31 million. The auction opens the house’s 60th-anniversary celebrations for its Wines and Spirits department, nearly six decades after Christie’s held its first wine auction in London in 1966.
Burgundy leads the offering, with a magnum of Henri Jayer’s Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux 1996 estimated at HK$180,000–260,000 and a magnum of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti 1995 estimated at HK$160,000–220,000. Bordeaux highlights include 12 bottles of Château Lafleur 1982 at HK$240,000–350,000 and a double magnum of Pétrus 1990 at HK$95,000–140,000.
The cellar also includes Champagne, Rhône, Italian, Spanish, German, and New World icons, among them Krug, Salon, Jacques Selosse, Rayas, Giacomo Conterno, Vega Sicilia, Keller, Screaming Eagle, and Penfolds Grange. Estimates exclude buyer’s premium.
For Symbolic Wines readers, the sale is a reminder that provenance, condition, and producer pedigree remain central to value at the highest level of the fine-wine market.
